Lawless (2012)
Three brothers (Tom Hardy, Shia LaBeouf & Jason Clarke) who run a bootlegging operation in Prohibition-era Virginia are threatened when the local law (Guy Pearce) asks for a cut of the profits…
While Hardy’s character was skinny, the actor was forced to play him bulky, “He had to put on weight for The Dark Knight Rises” says producer Lucy Fisher. “But he figured out other ways of showing the vulnerable side of this violent character”.

Over at Warner Bros., they are seeing a bright future for two of their franchise stars — Tom Hardy and Bradley Cooper — signing them up for first-look deals. Of course, the former takes the villain role in this summer’s The Dark Knight Rises and won a new batch of fans thanks to his turn in Inception. Everyone is expecting the superhero movie to push Hardy into star status, a bit of a gamble considering the dismal results of both Warrior and This Means War at the box office. But WB are hoping for the best, because they’re already in the early stages of building a franchise around him with the gangster tale Cicero that would be a potential trilogy with ‘Harry Potter’ helmer David Yates directing. And of course, there is Mad Max: Fury Road which is aiming to shoot this spring. Meanwhile, Harvey Weinstein even bumped the release date of The Wettest County to accomodate the Batman movie, with hopes that he can swoop in with a new film featuring the star of the moment.
Tom on the set of The Wettest County! YAY! At last! Even with blood, he’s still the prettiest of them all. :D
An actual photo from the actual set of The Wettest County in the World! Poor quality, but there he is: Tom Hardy, ladies and gents. :)
Obviously as himself, and not as Forrest Bondurant.
The poster also says that Tom’s now gone to NYC to start working on The Dark Knight Rises. I don’t know if that means he’s done with Wettest County or what. Seems a little early for Batman. Maybe he’ll be in the gym.
