Is it just me, or does this line show some slight vulnerability in Eames relating to his views on what is real or not real? As if he’s starting to forget what real life is anymore? Because obviously this relates to his totem, how in the dream his poker chip must multiply, but how he’s wary as to whether he’s dreaming or not.
Well, not necessarily. Some rub chips (or dice) together for good luck. If Eames won the game, his chips would have multiplied. Call that “breeding” and there you go.
